May 2024 Athlete Of The Month

Gabby Athlete Of The Month 1

Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not crushing the hardest every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better

Congrats goes to Gabby Springer! Gabby is as hardworking as they come. She brings a positive energy with her that is contagious. You can’t be in the same class as her and not want to push yourself or crack a smile. Learn more about Gabby in her questionnaire below:

Name: Gabby Springer

Hometown: Nashville

Age: 31

Occupation: Account Director at a Advertising Agency

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

Born in Texas, but lived in Nashville long enough to feel like I’ve been here my whole life. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we had our first kiddo (Jack) in 2023. My boys – Jack, Jason, and Forrest (our 75lb goldendoodle) are my ride or die.

What were your goals when you started training?

To live a healthier lifestyle both mentally and physically and learning to love strength training alongside cardio/endurance — becoming more of a hybrid athlete. Previous cardio junky over here 😉

How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?

Since 2020

What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?

Favorite has to be a good Metcon/EMOM that pushes the capacity and works up a good sweat. I also love a good partner grind. Least favorite is anything with the barbell overhead.

How has H Dub positively affected you?

It has created a space for me that I can show up no matter the phase of life I’m in or what I may be dealing with that day and I feel supported and able to show up as me. It’s shown me things I’m capable of that I didn’t know were possible and also grown our community with people who love doing what we do. Working hard, but also having fun.

What advice do you have for newcomers?

Try hard things. Try what makes you uncomfortable and remember you’re capable of more than you think.

Strength training doesn’t make you bulky…it makes you strong 🙂

What is something no one at the gym knows about you?

I feel like I’m kind of lame…

Never broken a bone? Never been stung by a bee

Jason stole this one from me when he was athlete of the month, but married to my highschool sweetheart

Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?

 Ryan Reynolds and Roger Federer

Let’s throw Tswift in the bag too, because why not.

If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be.

Rich Flex

Favorite Sport?

Tennis – both playing and watching the grand slams

and love watching college football – go vols.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Flying for sure. I like to get to places fast and am not a fan of long car rides. Catch me on the 45 minute flight to the beach vs. the 8 hour drive.

What is your favorite thing to eat?

Hard call – either some good Mexican food with a good ass margarita or Smashburger and tots — and can’t forget a side of ranch.
