Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not crushing the hardest every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better.

Congrats goes to Carly Senko! Carly is good vibes to her core. There is a 100% chance if you are in class with her, you will see her dancing/singing at some point. She is the first person at the gym and maybe in history to PR a Front Squat while singing “Rollin’” By Limp Bizkit. Learn more about Carly in her questionnaire below:

Name: Carly Senko

Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio

Age: 32

Occupation: Occupational Therapy Assistant

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a school-based OT practitioner in Nashville charter schools. I’m currently learning to work with therapy dogs so I can have the happiest job in the world. I’ve lived in Nashville for about 5 years and love going to concerts/shows down here. I have a big family in Cleveland, Ohio, where my fiance (newly engaged!) and I love to visit. In my freetime, I like dancing, snacking, and crafting. And stickers.

What were your goals when you started training?

I came to H Dub wanting to feel stronger and more energetic performing day-to-day activities.

How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?

I started at H Dub in March 2024- I needed to get some consistency and accountability in my life so I started with personal training and group classes and here we are!

What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?

I like barbell exercises and learning gymnastic skills best. My least favorite thing is running.

How has H Dub positively affected you?

So many positives! Since I’ve started at H Dub I feel more confident about strength training/workouts in general again. When I come to class, I know I will leave with a sense of accomplishment and feel glad that I sucked it up and went to class. The community and environment at H Dub overall is truly positive and embraces you as you are. I really appreciate that the coaches and programming can meet you where you are any given day.

What advice do you have for newcomers?

Just do it! At the very least, you’ll get high fives and jam to good music- that’s a pretty good time.

What is something no one at the gym knows about you?

In 5th grade, my class learned the presidents in order (why?) and I can still recite them.

Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?

Christina Tosi, Molly Baz, and Brad Leone

If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be.

1. Grove St. Party – Waka Flocka or

2. Swag Surfin’ – F.L.Y.

Favorite Sport?

Dance was my sport growing up but baseball is runner-up.

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Teleportation, easily.

Cookies and pizza
